A private home named "Shangrila" overlooks both the ocean and the bay.
The first email of the morning was from Dan. He was getting a feel from everyone as to this weekend’s weather window and the possibility of crossing back to the states. What a depressing way to start the day! As much as we don’t want to head back, realistically, we need to take our window when it comes. We learned in January, that the delay can be much longer than we want. Since we hope to stop and see a few places on the way home, we want to make sure we have the time. As a result, we need to take our window as soon as it becomes available. Everyone feels the same.
Brunelle will be heading to Marsh Harbor this morning so that Pegg and Jay can fly out tomorrow morning. Since Andiamo and we have no real agenda, we used the time left on the cart showed John and Betty the island. It was much prettier today in the sun. We also had more opportunities to take pictures and walk out around the point that Dan had suggested. We made a stop at the grocery store for OJ and ice cream, but they had no bread or bananas. I have bread mix so I am not worried about bread.
Once back onboard, we dropped the moorings and headed out. We were able to sail most of the way to Great Guana Cay, Andiamo motored ahead and checked out the moorings and anchorage and decided on the anchorage. We read until dinner. After dinner we watched the sun set and I saw the green flash, which came as a surprise. We had pretty heavy clouds earlier this evening, but the sun broke through just at it was partially setting.
Once again, catch up with the blog while the batteries charge and do some reading then lights out. Tomorrow, Brunelle, will be joining us again and we will see where we will be heading next.
These three photos are of the harbor. I couldn't resist the wonderful views. |
