Monday,
3/25/19 ~ As we
traveled up to Haulover Canal, we saw a very large pod of dolphins. If I had to guess, I would estimate about 50
dolphins in this pod. It is always exciting to see them.
The current gods were not good to us today. We fought the current all day, with the exception of about an hour. It probably added a good hour onto our trip.
PEKABU will be docked for a month here at Halifax Harbor. Pete and Bailey will stay here while I drive
up to take care of my Mom as she undergoes radiation therapy. We tried to get
into Camachee and Marineland, but both were booked solid for the month.
Wednesday, 3/28/19 ~ As we finished up breakfast, Pete’s phone rang for Facetime. When Pete answered it, our granddaughter, Riley, was on the phone. She hadn’t spoken with her Pop-Pop in a long time and wanted to know where we were. After a nice, but brief visit, she headed off to school and Pete went to pick up our rental car. Once back, Pete, Bailey and I headed to Riviera Beach to retrieve our car.
Tuesday, 3/27/19 ~ I walked and took a few photos
around Daytona’s Downtown. It is always
a nice walk.

We were glad we didn’t have to
travel by boat today as the winds were averaging 30 mph with higher gusts.
Since we needed to eat, and since we were in the area of North Palm Beach, we
stopped at Lola’s Seafood Deli for Lobster rolls for dinner (Such a
sacrifice!). The round trip took about 9.5 hours with stops.
Thursday, 3/29/19 ~ While Pete worked, I walked,
took a few more photos and did laundry.
Friday, 3/30/19 ~ We drove to Green Cove Springs, to
retrieve mail, which included STAR TREK DISCOVERY - Season 1, the CBS series
that is only available by channel subscription. That isn’t an option for us
since internet access is poor at most marinas. On the way back, we stopped at Jersey
Mike’s to pick up sandwiches for dinner.
Then we started to watch the series. The first 3 episodes were really good. Can’t
wait to see the rest of the season!
Saturday, 3/31/19 ~ I did some cleaning, while Pete
ran errands.
Around 11, we opted to head downtown to check out the craft fair that
was advertised. It turned out to be a
non-event. There were one or two tents
set up on the sidewalks outside shops, but that was it. So, we decided to take a ride along the beach
roads, which proved to be much more scenic and interesting.
Sunday, 4/1/19 ~ I did the final cleaning and
packed for my stay in NJ. I also
inventoried all the prepared meals I have been freezing for Pete while I am
gone. I have 23 meals along with Franks
and Hamburgers, to which he can add salads.
He should be set for about 4 weeks. And that does not include if he opts
to head out for a meal. He won’t have a car, but he has the bike, so I am not
abandoning him without options.
