We were up shortly before 7. Dog was walked and we again had final hugs
with Deb and Hugh before heading over to the fuel dock. We decided to wait and refuel in Marathon so
we were underway by 8:00 am. Breezes
were light out of the SSW. We were amazed
to see 9 sea turtles in one day! We are always looking, but seldom
rewarded. The Coast Guard helo made a
number of runs up and down the coast and circled over head once. We think they might be searching for someone
specific. Thankfully, it is not us!
The remainder of our trip today was
uneventful. We dropped anchor in Boot Key Harbor around 4:30 in the same spot we anchored on the
way down. The neglected boats just east
of us now have orange notices from the city to remove it from the harbor. It will be interesting to see how many of
these boats with notices will be gone by our fall visit.
