We left Tidewater Marina around 8:30 am. It’s hard to
believe, but we made the 4.5-hour drive to Delaware for a 30-minute doctor’s
visit and the 4.5-hour drive back. Thankfully,
the discussion was good and a change of medication will hopefully take care of the
side affects I was experiencing. Bailey, in her
own way, asked about 5 times, “are we there yet?” We did make a side detour through Kent Island
to pick up a few things as it was on our way. Even had a chance to say “Hi/Bye”
to Allan, from WHIRLWIND at the Marina.
It was close to 10 pm when we arrived back at Tidewater. Pete was tried and we decided to stay one
more day so that the car could be returned, the boat fueled, work done and no pressure
to make the travel to Coinjock before dark.
It was important to keep this appointment, but knowing we needed to rent a car, it meant that we had to stop our forward motion and plan around it. With the weather being favorable, we probably could have been in River Dunes today. Instead it being another 4 days away. However, we would not have time to explore Antipoison Creek, met some wonderful people, catch up on work, seen the spectacular launch, and relaxed a bit!
Tomorrow, the adventure continues.
