It was another long day of motor sailing.  There were a lot of larger boats heading north and south to new destinations.

As we got closer to Miami, there were lots of small fishing boats out on a beautiful Sunday . . .and so were the crazy boaters!  In the shallows off of Biscayne Key, there were hundreds of boats anchored on the flats with people swimming, floating and walking around the boats.

We were able to make out 5 cruise ships in port preparing to get underway shortly.  Disney’s Magic was there, but we never heard her departure horn/tune. . .  and we were listening for it!
The anchorage was pretty quiet except for a 40-foot fishing boat with 2 on board.  They weren’t noisy, but very interesting to watch.  They drifted around out boat for the better part of 90 minutes trying to catch a tarpon.  Apparently, this is a great area for them to congregate.  According to his fish finder there were plenty.  We watched as one of them actually caught one. He worked it for about 25 minutes before bringing it in and immediately releasing it.
While checking Facebook, we found that Deb and Mike of SV RESOLVE, had apparently passed us today, heading south, but on the inside passage.  We missed them by a number of miles.  We only wish we had known so we might have been able to meet up.
