Summer 2022

It has been a busy summer. A lot of routine doctors’ appointments, lots if completed boat projects. Pete actually kept a list this year and it is impressive - 49 items in all! Some big: like canvas cleaning and sealing, polishing boat, cleaning out storage unit, rewiring tv dome and system’s, sewing new skirts for sofas in salon and cushion covers for cockpit; others moderately involved: install new shower pump, making shades for hatches and head window, cleaning, organizing, and inventorying stem to stern.

In between the chores, Pete had a full work schedule, and, for most of July, I stayed with my friend, Carolyn, during her knee replacement and recovery. We blinked and the summer was over! We weren’t the only ones with busy schedules! Chris, Kel and the girls enjoyed camping on weekends. Of course, it is in addition to their busy jobs and finding camps and sitters for the girls while they are working. With conflicting and complicated, busy schedules it was hard to get together. Greg & Jenn are enjoying Greg’s new posting to Phili AND his coming home every night! Jenn is working on opening a new exercise studio besides her nursing job. Heather, too, has been busy with work and her crocheting. There is a rumor that our Christmas gifts are in the making!

Some of the high spots of the summer included joining a raft up in Swan Creek with our CCYC sailing club on Memorial Day Weekend.  Fourth of July weekend, we visited with Jenn & Greg. a planned Labor Day Weekend BBQ at my sister, Deneen and Joe’s home turned into a surprise “30th Anniversary of my 40th Birthday!” She not only rounded up my kids, but some nieces and boyfriends.  She even arranged for a zoom meeting with those who couldn’t be there in person. My Mom and sis, Debi, my sis Stephanie and her husband, Mike, as well as our “Italian” family: my brother Wayne, my nephew, Matteo and Vivian, and my niece, Nikki (who stepped out of wedding reception to join in!) The food was delicious, the drinks cold, the stories wonderful, and the day so very memorable!

While I finished up the final cleaning and last minute prep the final weekend before we leave, Pete drove the car to Florida to leave at Ann & Howie’s and flew back to Baltimore Sunday morning.

We are pretty sure we are ready!
