Time for a Little Art

I heard back from Sam, my “Blog Guru.”  He helped me this morning get the widget installed for people to sign up to receive the blog. Now I just have to get the posting up to date.

We are on the road to Miami, again only, this time, to the Coconut Grove Art Festival with Ann and Howie. On Wednesday, Howie called to ask if our window had changed.  If we were still around would we like to see one of the best outdoor art exhibits anywhere.  Of course we said, “sure.”
We traveled the same roads as yesterday, but made better time as it is Saturday.  The Festival, though outdoors, requires admission. There must have been close to 1000 juried participants, 50 food vendors, 10 portable bars and 100,000+ people. Sculpture, glass, pottery, textiles, leather, photography, painting, and jewelry that were all amazing.  They even had an area for the kids that included the balls that the kids get into and roll around in a pool; cool to look at, but hot and wet inside.

This is sculpture, not real people!
Afterwards we walked into town to grab a light dinner at a great Italian place. We had some major problems with the bus transportation back to the railroad station, where the car was parked, but after an hour we were back at the car and headed back to Key Largo.

Sometimes art can be found in places
just for fun!
One last stop at Publix for the very last minute provisioning; then back to the marina. We said our good-bys to Ann and Howie again.  We look forward to seeing them soon in the Islands.  Now, I have to put away these items and get ready for tomorrow. The window still looks good for a Monday crossing so we will be leaving Key Largo tomorrow. We are more than ready.
