A Lazy Day

Pete has had a very light work week. Everything had to be in last week for use at meetings this week.  As a result he was able to spend the morning reading and watching the comings and goings in the harbor.  I took advantage and edited some photos for the blog.
The Atlantic Ocean with 3-4 foot waves
After lunch Brunelle’s crew rented a cart to explore the island.  I worked on the blog then peeled shrimp in preparation of dinner while waiting our turn to use the cart. Pete gave it his best effort, but he still cannot master splicing double braided line.
Around 4, we were able to drop the shrimp and lobster off by Andiamo then head out for a quick look/see of the southern end of the island.  Here by the harbor the homes are small and close together, but heading south the homes become larger and more spread out.  As we passed the fire department, we figured that the permanent residents live further south so the volunteers would be closer to the equipment down there.
At land’s end there is a pretty lagoon.  There is a beach with a sign requesting that the sea stars be left where they are found. We actually saw one and it had a path of about 3 feet where it had moved along the bottom. It was pretty cool to see.  As we needed to get back and it looked like it might rain, we didn’t take Dan’s suggestion to walk out and around the point of land. May be if we come this way again in the future?
We were back at Andiamo by 5 to assist in any way need with dinner. Tonight John was making a seafood pasta dinner with the shrimp we had frozen from B & B Seafood, the lobster from Marsh Harbor and clams from Andiamo’s stash. To say dinner was delicious was an understatement. We once again had a wonderful time and it was well past dark when we headed back to our boats. We had to say our good-bys to Jay and Pegg as they will be heading over with Brunelle to Marsh Harbor in the morning.
Since I still had time left on my internet, I managed to post one day of the blog.  I fought with a second day for about an hour, fitting all the pictures only to find I had lost my internet and it was not able to save a draft. As it was now 10 PM, I shut down the computer, then the generator, took my shower and headed to bed . . .still grumbling.
