Pete's Favorite Dinner for the Fleet

The rest of the fleet arrived today. Since we were already here, I made both potato and macaroni salads earlier in the day.  A quick run to the market for hamburger rolls, with a side stop at the bank and the Texaco station for ice and we were set for dinner.
Pete had asked Peter, the dock master, for a recommendation for someone to wax the topsides and stainless.  One of the dockhands did a great job of hand waxing for a very fair price and he was done before our guest arrived for dinner.
With eight of us gathered for dinner, conversation covered many topics. With the Japanese earthquake still prominent in the news, it was frightening to hear Rose and Patrick’s experiences with the Chilean earthquake less than 2 years ago, since they were so close to the epicenter. It brings home how important it is to count our blessings: our families, our friends, our health, all the experiences that have led to this moment in time and to those moments in the future.
